The Formation Department’s role is to foster cooperation, coordination, and communication among all groups and individuals involved in the education/formation ministries of the parish. Bible Study Groups

St. Michael’s has several Bible Study groups.  The groups use the Great Adventures Bible study series by Ascension Press.  This program guides people to a fuller understanding of Scripture, through a realization of God’s living presence in the Sacred Scriptures.

Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)

Designed for adults (18 years and older) who are seeking full initiation into the Catholic Church.  The process includes instruction, sharing, prayer, and participation in social and charitable service.

An age appropriate adaptation of this process is offered for children and youth (7-18 years old) who are seeking full initiation into the Catholic Church.  The adapted process is family centered, with parents (guardians) and their children attending sessions.

Marriage Preparation

Helps engaged couples prepare for the Sacrament of Marriage. Various programs are available within the Archdiocese, all of which focus on the theology of Catholic marriage as well as important life skills. 8-12 months before your wedding date please contact Millie Mejia at 303-690-6797 ext. 350, or milliemejia@stmichael-aurora.org

Servants of the Word

That Man is You (TMIY)

An interactive men’s program focused on the development of men in the modern world.  Combining the best research from science with the teachings from the Catholic Faith and the wisdom of the saints to develop men who transform themselves, their families, and society.  Meets on Friday mornings at 6 a.m. – 7:30 a.m., from September through May (summer meetings vary).  Visit: http://www.paradisusdei.org/index.php/programs/tmiyy for more information.

Walking With Purpose (WWP)

Walking with Purpose is a Women’s Bible Study program whose mission is to help every Catholic woman in America encounter Jesus Christ through Bible Studies  No prior scripture knowledge is required, and they accept “rolling admission” throughout the year.  They share everyday challenges in an atmosphere of honesty and authenticity and accept one another for who they are: beloved daughters of God.  Come join them to meet new women for fellowship and connection.

Liturgy of the Word with Children

A Liturgy Presentation of Sunday’s scripture readings meaningful to children (age level K-5th grade).  This celebration is held every second Sunday of the month during the 10:30am mass.  The Father invites the children attending mass to come forward following the introductory prayers and then sends them forth to hear God’s word.

Vacation Bible School

A week-long program of religious education in which children are immersed in Bible times.  Activities include Bible stories, religious songs, arts and crafts, skits, or puppet shows which cater toward elementary school-aged children.

Youth Ministry

WorkCamp

A year-round Youth Ministry mission group that travels each summer to communities, providing for those most in need. The Youth and adult team work together to build wheelchair ramps, repair roofs, paint, and weatherize homes. Throughout the year the Workcampers raise funds for their mission trip through a variety of activities such as their annual Italian dinner and silent Auction, Share Sales during pancake breakfast, and letter writing campaigns by individual Work Campers.
