St. Michael’s Preschool Staff

Our Preschool staff posesses formal education, training and work experience in early childhood education. By attending conferences and workshops, visiting other early childhood programs, and reading professional publications, they keep current with the latest in educational principals and methods.

There are sixteen children in each class with two head teachers.

Our Highly Qualified Preschool Teachers

Dee Anne Toby is the Director of St. Michael’s Preschool.  She attended the University of Oklahoma, and graduated from the University of New Orleans with a B.A. in Education.  She joined the preschool staff in 1998.  She is responsible for the financial management of the preschool, the school curriculum, the teaching activities of the teachers, and the education and safety of 130 preschool children.  She has lived in Colorado for 31 years.  Spare time activities include reading, motorcycle touring and playing with grandbabies.

Connie Brunner, has been a preschool teacher for St. Michael’s since 1986. She attended college in Florida, and Colorado where she earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. She loves teaching and has now experienced teaching children of former students. Connie is married to David and has a daughter Rebecca, who attended St. Michael’s Preschool 98-00. Rebecca is now attending college in Florida.

Kellie Martin, a preschool teacher, is a native to Colorado, born in Boulder.  She attended CU and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing.   Her continuing education hours are in Early Childhood education.  Her husband flies for Frontier Airlines.  She has three boys who all attended St. Michael’s Preschool, and are now in high school and middle school.  She has taught for 5 years.

Jenny Weidner,Assistant Director/ Preschool Teacher. I graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education. I have worked in either business or education since graduating from high school. I think it is rewarding to observe children grow and develop while they are learning to become good friends. I grew up in Buffalo, New York and moved to Illinois where I met my husband. We have 2 children, one born in Indiana and one born here in Colorado. I have been working at St. Michael’s Preschool since 2006 and look forward to many years to come.
