Religious EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN

St. Michael's Religious Education curriculum offers solid content in catechetical sessions appropriate to each age level. We also understand the need to experience and learn within a living community. Therefore, we will integrate all learning with the faith life of the family and the whole parish.
The Christian vision of family life speaks about the family as a community of life and love. It proclaims that family life is sacred, that family activities are holy, and that God's love is revealed and communicated in new ways each and every day through Christian families. This Christian vision of family life calls families to a unique identity and mission. The Church emphasizes that the family is the domestic church or the church of the home. The family shares in one and the same mission that Christ gives to the whole church. The U.S. Catholic Bishops proclaim this vision in Follow the Way of Love when they write: A family is our first community and most basic way in which the Lord gathers us, forms us and acts in the world. The early church expressed this truth by calling the Christian family a domestic church or church of the home.

Religious EDUCATION FOR ADULTS

GROWING FAITH - AN ADULT FAITH FORMATION PROGRAM

Catholics believe we cannot know Christ without at the same time knowing and being a part of the body of Christ. He is the head of the body which is the church. Knowing Christ is an essential part of being Catholic; participating at Mass, celebrating the sacraments, working for justice and peace, following the precepts of the church, learning from the pastoral leaders of the church, and developing mature, adult faith within a community.
Growing Faith intends to help in the development of that mature, adult faith. Rooted in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, it is designed to support the journey of faith so many Catholics are making today. Sessions include presentations, as well as facilitator led small and large group discussions.
